Lotus Evora GTE at Le Mans 2011

Ycom was appointed by Lotus to design and build 2 Lotus Evora GTE. The timing of the project was extremely tight as we started in November 2010 and we had 2 cars at the Prequalif of Le Mans on 23rd of April!!

Starting from the initial layout, every component of the car (except for the engine) was designed, built and developed by YCOM. Lotus GTE finished seventh in class in the classic 24 Hours of Le Mans sports car race, completing a race that many cars could not finish. In a project that first turned a wheel on a race track less than 2 and a half months ago, to reach the end of arguably the greatest endurance race in the world was a huge achievement. Lotus made its return to the 24-Hour race after years away from the event and that return was an unqualified success.

It was a 24 Hours of Le Mans to remember, where Audi lost 2 cars on big accidents and showed to the word the strength of their monocoques and the strength of his team which was able to win against the biggest competition ever

Need Homologation?
In the last few years we have been the only private company that has conducted homologation of racing cars in many categories and for several customers. We have followed the calculation and the crash test for most of the cars running at the moment in Europe beside F1

At the 24 hours of Le Mans 2009 we worked on 13 LMP1 out of 22, and in 2006 we had 3 cars on the podium!
